FAQs
My door rubs the carpet — is it the door or the frame? +
Usually settling has shifted the frame. We can plane the door bottom (cheap, 15 minutes) or re-shim the frame (more involved). We will tell you from a photo and a quick visit.
Can you replace just the slab without removing the frame? +
Yes — slab replacement is faster (1-2 hours) and cheaper than pre-hung. The new slab needs to match the existing hinge cutouts; we confirm before ordering.
Storm door won't close softly anymore? +
The closer (pneumatic cylinder) failed. Replacement closer is $25-$40 and takes 15 minutes. Common.
Patio door is hard to slide — can you fix? +
Yes. Usually the rollers under the door are worn or the track has dirt and aluminum shavings packed in. We clean the track, replace rollers if needed, and adjust the height. Most patio doors are back to gliding in one visit.
Will a new front door require painting? +
Pre-finished doors come pre-painted. Unfinished doors need primer and 2 coats. We can paint as part of the install for an added line item.
